Yeah, the worst part was that we should have been leaving gleeful rather than pissed.

And I feel bad that Dr. V's first experience turned ugly when it should have been joyous.

Though, I'm trying to tell myself...this will just be an amusing story we all laugh about later.

And dvdguy definately did get those 3 answers that we would not have gotten otherwise.

dvdguy

Yeah I hope that doesn't keep Dr. and Ms. V away from future outings. Their input was valuable.

Anna

What was the NJ question? (just wondering if I would know it was the answer since I am so proud of my NJ girlness...)

leslie

"In what state is Princeton located?"

JBH instantly knew that one, as he lived in NJ for a while.

leslie

All in all, a fun evening.

Don't let Uncle Fester get y'all down!

Anna

Oh thats easy for someone who lived there. Its so small you know the names of most of the towns!!LOL

denirogator

I'm getting less and less mad about it as time passes and I think about the absurdity of it.

Plus, the whole point is to have a good time, the Cash is just gravy.

melanie

ok now, granted, i wasn't there for this exchange, but am i the only person here who feels like this guy actually made the evening MORE fun? i assure you, if i HAD been there, and that happened, comedy would have ensued... so what IS this whole trivia night dilly you speak of anyway? where is it? and there's cash involved, you say?

melanie

also, nj is not that small, though that everyone didn't know where princeton is located - - a little discouraging? which brings me to my next point - - many of you, being so internet savvy, are pbly familiar w/ this, but i thought i'd share my latest addiction:
http://www.pibmug.com/files/map_test.swf
a geography quiz! good times and highly addictive!

dvdguy

For those unaware, the trivia we participate in has an official website:

http://www.jaxtrivia.com/

denirogator

It did NOT make it more fun I can assure you.
Though later on I'm sure we'll have plenty of laughs at the whole drama's expense.

melanie

exactly my point. seems to me you all owe this fellow a thank you for something funny to talk about. now, had i been there, there would likely have been a rousing immitation of the fellow performed by a slightly intoxicated me as it was happening. sure, it may have risked the safety of the gentlemen in my company, but -- comedy nonetheless.

JBH

Not to worry about safety of the menfolk, Melanie. There were more of us'ens than them 'ens, plus we were (mostly) more sober. Besides, Leslie knows Kung Fu!

dvdguy

In retrospect, yes I will laugh at this dude until I die. At the time I was mad, probably because I couldn't laugh in his face. He was like 6'5, 300 pounds and a bit tipsy. I could have seen him leap over a table to tackle someone at any minute. I saw him several times earlier just go off on other people there... I really thought the guy was going to fight someone before the night was through.

melanie

oh, you didn't tell me it was matt! what were you worried about then?
tee hee hah!

1) Trivia night sounds really fun. To my knowledge, we only have the non-social, boring computer kind in Seattle.
2) You guys are total trivia gurus. I was reading your post, thinkin' "Dr. No - 1962" and feeling pretty smug, but you would have lost me on nearly every one of those additional answers.
3) Mr. Furious was a totally funny character in "Mystery Men". Thanks for the great reference.

dvdguy

And there were no good screencaps of Stiller from Mystery Men online anywhere.
