I've been plowing through the illustrious Mamie Van Doren filmography lately, trying to determine what her "big" movie was. Girls Town is the closest I can figure to a signature film for the blonde beauty. It certainly wasn't The Girl in Black Stockings though, as it's yet another film in her history where she receives high billing yet very little screen time.
Important Search Tip: Want to get fired? Do an innocent image/video search for: girl in black stockings. Expecting the poster/trailer from this film? Well think again and then some.
Not much to say here, except that it's a confusing and slow as hell murder thriller featuring a very young Anne Bancroft. You know your script is in trouble when after the film's resolution your characters talk for another 10 minutes explaining the ridiculously complicated backstory that we never got to see. Even Mamie's brief role can't make this one the least bit interesting.
